Prom Dress Reviews (part 1/3)

For this year I have seen numerous new prom dress designs worth reviewing. As an aspiring dress designer, I had to consider quite a number of factors in choosing what’s hot and what’s not.

Let’s head off to the what’s Hot list, here are my top 10 choices:

Top 10.

I Really Like this “Modern Mermaid” design. Usually when you say mermaid dress you’d imagine a dress with a slim cut skirt that blooms to a semi-balloon in the knee area. This dress defies the traditional mermaid dresses with its mermaid top design.

If you’d notice, the upper design which is the chest area resembles what mermaids are often drawn wearing.

This design is modern, simple yet captivating. It has that Natural allure which makes this dress number 10 in my list.

Top 9.

This is Perfect for those carrying an extra weight specially in their mid section. The Empire cut of this dress will emphasize the Bust area which would be more flattering.

This Design is simply elegant! The vertical lines of the fabric gives that slimming effect and adds in an extra height for petite people.

I really love the Classic empire cut and the modern accents of the dress. You’d usually see this kind of design in traditional greek or roman sculptures and paintings, why yes, this dress is fit for a goddess earning its place at number 9.

Top 8.

This Dress is sweet. It actually comes in other colors and I wish they took a picture of the pink or red color instead of the brown one. I personally think the color in the picture doesn’t give much justice to the beautiful design of the dress.

I really love the skirt of this dress it’s just so feminine yet modern. I love how the layers turn out and the fall of the train. The beaded flower patches of the dress also adds accent.

It’s a sweet design for ladies who’d like to be modest with what they wear but still get to be classy and alluring.

I just wish they added something more to the top of the dress like probably some bead works on the line.

Top 7.

Feeling Gothic? Here is Goth + Elegance. You’d usually picture  Goths wearing old Victorian gowns and dresses in black or other dark creepy colors, While some people like myseld actually admire those kind of fashion, reality bites, some people hate it and some people fear it thinking their either pyscho or dead.

Now if it was your prom, you wouldn’t want to scare away your date unless he is also a gothic type of person ( No No Goths are way way much different from Emo ).

So here’s something to be comfortable in (knowing you are being yourself ) without freaking out your date (unless that is your intention O_O ) and on the contrary actually attracting more people.

This dress is very simple but very enigmatic. I love the dark gothic lace patterns on the dress particularly coz it gives this dress a very unique and distinct character.

That’s it for the 1st part of the Top 10 Prom dresses in my list.

I’ll be posting the 2nd and 3rd part very very soon, until then, keep sparkling~ (^_~)V
